When to Visit Mahé by Yacht

The best time to charter in Mahé is during the dry season from May to October, when the southeast trade winds bring cooler, drier weather and smooth sailing conditions. For calmer seas ideal for diving and snorkelling, April and November are perfect shoulder-season months with minimal wind and high visibility.

Cruising Highlights – Where to Sail Around Mahé

  • Beau Vallon Bay
Anchor off this wide, sandy beach and enjoy a laid-back afternoon paddleboarding or swimming. It’s also great for watersports and local beach BBQs.
  • Port Launay Marine National Park
A protected sanctuary on Mahé’s northwest coast with calm turquoise waters, coral reefs, and opportunities for snorkelling and turtle sightings.
  • Anse Major
A secluded beach only accessible by boat or foot—perfect for a private swim stop or picnic lunch with views of granite boulders and lush jungle.
  • Ste. Anne Marine Park
Just off the east coast, this cluster of islands offers easy anchorages, amazing snorkelling, and opportunities to visit uninhabited islets by tender.

Must-See – Victoria, Seychelles’ Capital

Small but vibrant, Victoria is one of the world’s tiniest capitals and a great place to experience the essence of Seychellois life. Stroll through the Sir Selwyn Clarke Market, visit the clocktower, and stop at local craft stalls before returning to your yacht.

Where to Eat & Drink

  • Marie Antoinette (Victoria) – An iconic Creole restaurant housed in a historic colonial building. The set menu is a flavourful introduction to Seychellois cuisine.
  • La Scala (Bel Ombre) – Sophisticated Italian fine dining with sea views, ideal for a special evening ashore.
  • The Boat House (Beau Vallon) – A lively beachfront spot offering a Creole buffet, cocktails, and great sunset ambience.
